Cancer can cause a number of mental Health issues for everyone concerned on all levels ,we are now starting to work with The Anthony Seddon Fund as we believe if we make people aware its ok to talk about these issues and that they are not alone , we can stop the issues arising or prevent them from increasing

cancer and mental health go hand in hand and its understandable when you really think about it

Cancer Warriors is working together with local cancer support groups no one will be alone.

We will be doing fund raisers and other events and once we have our dropin  ,We are looking for local business to make donations and the General public and using profits from the café

How will we fund this?

This is a Cancer Coffee Drop in centre in Tameside, that will offer anyone who needs cancer support; we will offer support, information and advice as well as complementary Therapy.  It will also allow support groups to the use a relaxed meeting place. Services will be able to come in on certain days and run support sessions. We also will have a Benefits and support Team.

#TheBigProject

Working in the Cancer Area as a Cancer Advocate and fundraiser was supposed to be a short-term commitment, but it became a life-long journey! I am unable to return to work. This has become my life. I'm so fortunate to be able to impact the lives of others, all while partnering with some of the most passionate and driven people on the globe.

Foundation History

2007 - Derrick Evans a normal 30 year old father of 1 goes to the Christie and his life changes forever. He was diagnosed with stage 4 Cancer after leaving a lump for two years. This decision cost Derrick his immediate future and meant having to undergo a lot of treatment, that if he had gone earlier could have possibly been avoided.

2008 - Derk's Army is formed. Raising funds for The Christie.

2012 - Derrick Evans Beats cancer for the 3rd time and has a Stemcell transplant.

2013 - Derrick Evans finds himself unable to return to work due

to the after effects of his treatment. So instead he starts as a Cancer Advocate and Fundraiser.

2014 - Derk's Army changes its format to Cancer Warriors and works with other cancer survivors on the team to raise money for The Christie. With new focus they aim to create awareness and support to cancer patients.

2015 - Derrick Evans recognized that Tameside needs a Greater Awareness and has the idea of #TheBigProject. Also starts to campaign for a cancer unit within Tameside Hospital. After speaking with members of the group they all agree, it needs to happen. Cancer warriors grows to more than 250 volunteers in 4 countries worldwide & the Cancer warriors buddie scheme takes off helping people in the local community.

2016 -January- Cancer Warriors Applies for Charity Reg No.

and on March 3rd 2016 Cancer Warriors Becomes a Charity.
